Early conversation revolves around the College Football Playoff and for good reason. Oklahoma hasn't played a difficult schedule but they have been tested. Baylor's played good ball this season led by Abram Smith in the backfield and Tyquan Thornton on the outside. Do the Bears have enough bullets to derail the Sooners season? Matt Corral continues to sling it on a bum ankle and all the eyes are focused on whether he can win the Heisman Trophy which could lead to being the 1st pick in 2022 the NFL Draft. Michigan imploded late against in-state rival Sparty but that doesn't boot them from a potential playoff spot. The Wolverines must win out and that includes their season finale against Ohio State. Wake Forest was there, they really were. The Demon Deacons threw up 55 points last week at North Carolina, but a costly 4th quarter interception by Sam Hartman helped UNC rattle off 24 points in the final frame. Falling to 8-1 on the season, let's see how Hartman rallies his team against a viable NC State squad that is 4-1 in the ACC. San Diego State's offense is disgusting and that's putting it mildly, but their defense is top shelf. That might not mean much in college football these days especially with an explosive offense like Nevada. However, two critical points to look at with the Wolfpack is the ineffectiveness of their offensive line and the knee injury Carson Strong battles through. Strong looked mortal last week against San Jose State and he's clearly playing at less than 100%. The Pac-12 is trying to find an outright winner worthy of representing the conference in the CFB Playoff. The Ducks sit 3rd in the nation, but their spot is not safe with Ohio State's recent surge. A winner earlier this season head-to-head, Oregon's now having to hold off the Buckeyes with how both teams are trending the last month. The Ducks need to make a statement against Washington State in Eugene.
